How do I install my Action, Borders & Textures and/or AutoAlbum DASHBOARD into Photoshop CS5.1 or CS6 on a MAC?

With the new release of Photoshop CS5.1 and CS6, some of our customers are experiencing some challenges installing the DASHBOARD. This is because our plug-in installer, as with most others, is not yet compatible with this new version. Don't fret though, we have a solution for you.

What we need to do is create a "fake" Photoshop folder to install the DASHBOARD into, and then take the plug-in file and transfer it over into the CS5.1 (or CS6) Plug-ins folder. Here are the steps to take:

1. Open a Finder window. The Finder is the little Picasso looking face on your dock.
2. Go to Hard Drive > Applications folder.
3. Create a new folder (Command+Shift+n) in Applications and name it"Adobe Photoshop CS3."
4. Inside of this Adobe Photoshop CS3 folder, create another new folder and name it "Plug-ins."
5. Run the DASHBOARD installer again.

6. This time it will recognize that you have Adobe Photoshop CS3 installed on your computer and will install into there.
7. Now go into the Plug-ins folder in Adobe Photoshop CS3, you should see the 'Kubota Dashboard 3.0.Plug-in' file there now. Move this file to your desktop.
8. Now go to Hard Drive > Applications > Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 (or CS6) > Plug-ins and place the 'Kubota Dashboard 3.0.Plug-in' file into the Plug-ins folder.

Viola! Next time you open Photoshop CS5.1 (or CS6), you should now see your DASHBOARD.

I'm on a Mac a and the installer says that CS2 or higher cannot be found, but I have CS5 or CS6!

How do I install my Action and/or Borders & Textures DASHBOARD into Photoshop CS6 on a PC if I also have a previous version (CS2, CS3, CS4, CS5, CS5.1) of Photoshop installed? AutoAlbum DASHBOARD is not compatible at this time.

How do I install my Action and/or Borders & Textures DASHBOARD into Photoshop CS6 on a PC if I do not also have Photoshop CS2, CS3, CS4, CS5, or CS5.1 installed? AutoAlbum DASHBOARD is not compatible at this time.

With the new release of Photoshop CS6, some of our customers are experiencing some challenges installing the DASHBOARD. This is because our plug-in installer, as with most others, is not yet compatible with this new version. Don't fret though, we have a solution for you.

The DASHBOARD needs an earlier version of Photoshop to recognize so that all files are properly installed. What we need to do it install this trial of CS4, then run the DASHBOARD installer. It will install into CS4. Once it is installed, you can simply move the Plug-in to CS6, and then delete CS4. Here are the steps to take:

1. Downloading the trial installer for CS4.
2. Run the installer and install CS4 trial version
3. Once CS4 is installed, please run the DASHBOARD installer

4. Go to C:Drive > Program Files > Adobe > Adobe Photoshop CS4 > Plug-ins and copy the Kubota Plug-in you are wanting to install into CS6
5. Go to C:Drive > Program Files > Adobe > Adobe Photoshop CS6 > Plug-ins and paste the Kubota Plug-in
6. Launch Photoshop CS6 to confirm DASHBOARD is available. If it does not load right away, please go to File > Automate
7. Go to Control Panel > Uninstall Programs and uninstall Photoshop CS4 Trial

Once Photoshop CS4 in uninstalled, you will still be able to use the DASHBOARD in Photoshop CS6 with no issue. We tested this method several times to insure it would function properly for our customers.

What is DASHBOARD?

DASHBOARD is a palette for your Photoshop actions. Imagine adding a search engine to your current Photoshop Actions Palette. Utilizing advanced keyword search functionality, you can now quickly and easily launch and apply your Kubota Tools to create the fabulous, inspired images you visualize. The DASHBOARD search field finds enhancements by name or type, such as black-and-white, color, or creative enhancements. Also, intuitively enhance your images by searching by type of image, such as “fashion,” “wedding,” “baby,” “portrait,” “senior,” etc. You can also search based upon the mood you want to convey by typing in emotional keywords such as “romantic,” “fun,” “funky,” “dreamy,” “edgy,” etc.

How do I purchase DASHBOARD?

The DASHBOARD comes with any Artistic, Production and Creative Tools purchase or Sales Session Pak. If you simply wish to run third party actions, you may purchase the DASHBOARD 3 PRO Solo for $79.

What is the difference between DASHBOARD, DASHBOARD PRO and DASHBOARD PRO Solo?

DASHBOARD
Many of you may be familiar with loading actions into your Photoshop Action Palette. We've come up with a new innovative way of using them faster and easier through our DASHBOARD. Our DASHBOARD is a floating palette in Photoshop that lists all of your Kubota Actions. It allows you to find the action you're looking for by scrolling through the list, searching by name or keyword, or selecting a specific set of actions from the available drop down menu. All of our Kubota actions are automatically installed into and ran from the DASHBOARD now.

DASHBOARD PRO
We also offer a PRO version of the DASHBOARD. If you happen to own any third party actions from another company (don't worry, we still love you if you do) or have created some of your own, the DASHBOARD PRO will allow you to run, keyword and add descriptions to them. For customers who currently owns a set of our Actions (and have activated them), you can easily upgrade to the PRO version for only $49 by clicking on the 'Update' button at the bottom right of your DASHBOARD.

If you are in love with the idea of the DASHBOARD, but don't own any Kubota Actions and are only interested in using it for third party actions, you have the option to purchase the DASHBOARD 3 PRO Solo for only $79. *Please note that this version does not come with any Kubota Actions.

Can I use actions loaded in my Action's Palette through DASHBOARD?

Yes!DASHBOARD 3 PRO will read all actions from your Photoshop Actions Palette, whether you've created them or have purchased someone else's.

Can I purchase individual Kubota Actions?

Kubota Actions can only be purchased in Paks. There are a ton of other great Actions that come in these sets, so it’s well worth getting the whole thing. If you have yet to try the DASHBOARD out, you can download a free trial.

Can I use Kubota Actions without the DASHBOARD?

Our Actions are now offered solely in the DASHBOARD as opposed to the Photoshop Actions Palette. This is an added security measure that ensures individuals are using legal copies of our software. We apologize if this is an inconvenience, however, we feel the DASHBOARD the greatest way to manage Photoshop actions.

What is the current version of DASHBOARD?

The current version is 3.0.6. To see if you are running the current version, please go to the Settings menu at the bottom of your DASHBOARD and select 'About.' In the window that appears, you will see what version you are running. If you are not running the current version you may update at any time.

Can I use Kubota Actions without the DASHBOARD?

How will I receive my product?

If you purchase any of the following products, you will automatically receive an email with a download of the software. If you prefer, you can also select to add a hard copy of the product to your order for an additional $10 plus shipping. Just be sure to check the box at the bottom left of the store page before adding the product to your shopping cart.

Can I purchase a hard copy on a jump drive or CD?

Yes, you can! A jump drive is $10 plus shipping. You can check to add a hard copy before adding your product to the shopping cart or you can contact us and an Action Hero can take your order at a later time.

What's on my jump drive?

This flash drive contains two different installers, one for the Action Dashboard and one for the Bor-Tex Dashboard.

If you purchased our Kubota Bor-Tex Pak, please run the appropriate installer file from the 'Kubota Bor-Tex Pak 1.0.5' folder.

If you do not yet own our Kubota DASHBOARD, you may run the installer from the 'Kubota DASHBOARD 3.0.6' folder to run a trial version of the software for 30 days!

If you purchased any of the following products, please run the appropriate installer file from the 'Kubota DASHBOARD 3.0.6' folder. You will only need to run this installer once, even if you purchased more than one option from below. If this is the first time you are installing version 3.0.6, it will install all of the products you see listed for a 30 day trial period. USING THE DASHBOARD

How do I find additional help for working with my DASHBOARD?

Please go to the 'Help' menu on your DASHBOARD to access the User Guide. Also, check out our video tutorials and webinars for more helpful tips and tricks.

How do I set up a Hot Key to bring up the DASHBOARD?

On the DASHBOARD, in the "Kubota Basic Tools" section at the top of the list that appears, select and play the ‘Create a shortcut for the Dash.' Playing this will give you instructions on setting up your Hot Key.

How do I set up a Hot Key for a Kubota Action?

To set up a Hot Key, please follow the steps below.
    1. Open any image.
    2. Create a new set on your Photoshop Actions Palette and name it “My Customized Action."
    3. Create a new action in that set, name it appropriately, choose a function key and click 'Record.'
    4. Go to File > Automate > Copy Kubota Actions...
    5. Click on the drop-down menu found in the new window and start typing the name of an Action.
        Once selected, click 'OK.' This should apply the Action to your image.
    6. Now, make any opacity or layer adjustments as desired while you’re still recording.
    7. When you are done playing Actions, click the Stop button found at the bottom of your Actions Palette.

Can I batch or customize an Action with the DASHBOARD?

If you are trying to setup a customized Action or an Action to batch with, please follow the steps below.
    1. If you are batching, go to the "Settings" menu bottom of the DASHBOARD and select ‘Ignore Stops.'
        If you are not setting the Action up for batching, please proceed to step 2.
    2. Open any image.
    3. Create a new set on your Photoshop Actions Palette and name it “My Customized Actions” or something similar.
    4. Create a new action in the set you just created, name it appropriately, and click 'Record.'
    5. Go to File > Automate > Copy Kubota Actions...
    6. In the new window, select an Action from the drop-down menu and click 'OK.'
        This should apply the Action to your image.
    7. Now, make any opacity or layer adjustments as desired while you’re still recording.
        If you’d like to combine this with another Action, please repeat steps 5 and 6.
    8. Go to File > Save As and choose the format you would like your post processed image to be converted to.
    9. When you are done playing Actions, click the Stop button found at the bottom of your Actions Palette.

How do I use the Logo Placement Actions from Production Tools V2?

In order to use the Logo Placement Actions, you’ll need to do a Set-up Action first. Go to your Photoshop Actions Palette and look for the "Kubota set-up Actions," then follow the instructions below.
    1. Find the Action named "Open Logo."
    2. Click once on the name of the Action, then click the round 'Record' button on the Actions Palette.
    3. Go to File > Open and open your logo.
    4. Click the square 'Stop' button on the bottom of the Actions Palette to stop recording.
    5. That’s it! Go ahead and close the logo file.

Now you can place the logo on future images by simply running any of the three logo placing Tools from the DASHBOARD.

How do I make my logo apply with the opacity at 100%?

Please create a new custom action and set the opacity to 100%. To create a custom action, follow the steps below.

1. Open any image.
2. Create a new set on your Photoshop Actions Palette and name it “My Customized Actions” or something similar.
3. Create a new action in the set you just created, name it appropriately, and click 'Record.'
4. Go to File > Automate > Copy Kubota Actions...
5. In the new window, select an Action from the drop-down menu and click 'OK.' This should apply the Action to your image.
6. Now, make any opacity or layer adjustments as desired while you’re still recording.
If you’d like to combine this with another Action, please repeat steps 5 and 6.
7. Create a save step by going to File > Save as and save as a jpg with your desired settings.
8. When you are done playing Actions, click the Stop button found at the bottom of your Actions Palette.

How can I see my original baseline image?

Please follow the steps below to setup your "Show Original Baseline Image" Action.
    1. In Photoshop, go to File > Scripts > Script Events Manager...
    2. Check ‘Enable Events to Run Scripts/Actions:.’
    3. In the Photoshop Event drop-down menu, choose ‘Open Document.’
    4. Select 'Action,' 'Kubota set-up Actions 2' and ‘Take a baseline image snapshot.'
    5. Click ‘Add,’ and the event should will appear in the menu field.
    6. Click ‘Done’ and that’s it!

Now, the next time you open an image, a snapshot should automatically be taken and will then allow you to use your "Show Original Baseline Image" Action.

DASHBOARD PRODUCT LICENSING

What is my license and where do I find it?

Your license number is the pin code located on your order receipt. All license numbers begin with KUB followed by a series of numbers and letters. This code will activate the products that you own on your DASHBOARD. If you are unable to locate your license number, please contact our office with your name and email address.

How do I activate the DASHBOARD?

To activate your product(s), please go to the Settings menu at the bottom of your DASHBOARD and select ‘Activate.' Enter your license number along with your information and you’re all set. If you decide that you want to add more Actions to your collection or upgrade to the PRO version at any time, you can just click 'Update' at the bottom of the DASHBOARD. You will be shown all the product options that are available for purchase.

I don’t have Internet, can I still activate?

It is a requirement that a computer be connected to the Internet during activation of any of our licensed Photoshop products. This is an added security measure that ensures individuals are using legal copies of our software. We apologize if this is an inconvenience, however, we find this to be a protective strategy we plan to uphold. We appreciate your understanding.

How many times can I use my license?

The license number for your product(s) will allow you to activate on two computers of your choice. If you would like to install your product(s) on any additional computers, you can purchase an extra license use for only $80. If you own more than one DASHBOARD product, this $80 purchase will get you up and running on one additional computer with all your DASHBOARD products.

How can I buy additional license uses?

To purchase an additional license use, please call our office at your convenience and we’ll take care of your order over the phone.

TROUBLESHOOTING THE DASHBOARD

Why is my DASHBOARD in 30-day trial mode?

It is normal for your DASHBOARD to appear as a trial version for the first 30 days following your installation. Everyone who receives DASHBOARD starts off in trial mode, which includes all of our Actions and the PRO version of DASHBOARD. This allows customers who do not own all of our Actions to try them out so they can better decide if they would like to purchase them at a later time. You can enter in your license code any time within the trial period and you will still have access to everything for those 30 days. At the end of the trial, your license will activate the products you own.

What should I do if I’m having challenges licensing and registering?

If you are having challenges registering your Photoshop products, please make sure that you are connected to the Internet. Once you are connected, enter your license number (pin code) exactly as it appears on your order receipt. If you have already registered this license number, you will need to enter the name and email information as it was entered originally. Please see the error codes below to remedy your particular challenge.
    Error 11—Entering wrong license number for the product.
    Error 54—Not connected to the Internet.
    Error 88—Entering the wrong code in the wrong product.
    Error 258—The email being entered does not match our records.
    Error 0XB—You have already activated the limit of computers that your license allows.

If you still continue to experience challenges, please call our office for further assistance or try removing any past licensing.

Some Actions that I have activated in DASHBOARD 3 are unavailable. How do I get them back?

We recommend you reset your licensing by following the steps below.
    1. Close Photoshop and remove the specified folder relative to your operating system.

        MAC:
        Finder > Hard Drive > Users > Shared > Kubota Image Tools > and remove the KAD3 folder.

        VISTA / WIN 7:
        C:Drive > Program Data > Digital Elements > and remove the KAD3 folder.

Tip: If you do not see the Program Data folder, please go to your Control Panel > Folder Options > and click on the View tab. Now, scroll down and turn on the ‘Show Hidden Files and Folders’ option, press APPLY and then OK. Now try browsing to the path above again.

        XP:
        C:Drive > Documents & Settings > All Users > Application Data > Digital Elements >
        and remove KAD3 folder.

Tip: If you do not see the Application Data folder, please go to your Control Panel > Folder Options > and click on the View tab. Now, scroll down and turn on the ‘Show Hidden Files and Folders’ option, press APPLY and then OK. Now try browsing to the path above again.

    2. Now open Photoshop and license your product.

What should I do if my license number is comprised of only numbers and does not fit in the activation window?

If your license number does not begin with KUB then it is likely an outdated license code. You will need to contact us for your new license code.

I can’t find my DASHBOARD! Where did it go?

To get your DASHBOARD back up, simply go to File > Automate > select the Kubota Dashboard 3 Palette... The DASHBOARD should immediately reappear. You may want to see if you have the Auto Close feature turned on as well by going to the Settings menu > Auto Close Dashboard.

My DASHBOARD closes after I run an Action. What do I do?

If you go to the Settings menu on the DASHBOARD, you’ll see the option "Auto Close DASHBOARD." If there is a check next to it, the feature is turned on. To turn it off, simply click 'Auto Close DASHBOARD' again.

What do I do if I get the error "Command "select” at step _ is currently unavailable.?"

Select 'Reload Tool Presets' from the Settings menu on the DASHBOARD and then try the Action again.

What do I do if I get the error "Command "make” at step _ is currently unavailable.?"

Please check the following things if you are getting this sort of error message.
• Have you created a new layer that an action would have trouble running from (e.g. text, curve, etc)?
• Are in 8 bit or 16 bit mode? Many Photoshop filters and adjustments will not work while your image is in 16 bit mode. You can change your mode from Image > Mode.

What do I do if my Actions have blue question marks?

Please see resetting licensing information. It is possible that you have a license code that is not fully populated with every one of your past purchases. You may need to contact the Kubota Team in order to update your code. Please include your name, email address, and current license code in the email.

What do I do if my Actions have red X’s?

Please see resetting licensing information.

I don’t see all the Kubota Actions I have purchased. Where did they go?

It is possible that you have a license code that is not fully populated with all of your past purchases. You may need to contact the Kubota Team in order to update your license. Please include your name, email address and current license code in your email to us.

What do I do if I receive a message that tells me my DASHBOARD is licensed on another machine. (Mac only)

This is cause by an incompatibility issue between DASHBOARD 2 and OS X 10.6. This message can only be removed by updating your DASHBOARD.

I lost my jump drive or downloaded installer. How can I reinstall?

Please download and install the most current version of your products from these links.

I have CS2 and/or Mac OS X 10.4. How can I still use the DASHBOARD?

Although we have discontinued development for Photoshop CS2 and Mac OS X 10.4, you are still able to keep your DASHBOARD up and running by downloading our most current version compatible with these systems.

Photoshop CS3 or CS4 is crashing when I updated to Mac OS X 10.6.5. What should I do?

It is likely that you are using an outdated version of the DASHBOARD. Please download and install the most current version.

Please note, DASHBOARD V2 is not compatible with Mac OS X 10.6.5.)

Why does my DASHBOARD not have graphics and I get errors when running Actions? (CS5 Mac ONLY)

If you are experiencing a cog looking graphic as the header for your DASHBOARD this is likely due to a known bug in DASHBOARD 3. This issue is caused by an unusual character in an action set, on your Photoshop Actions Palette. You should be able to fix this issue by removing your Plug-In.

Go to Applications > Adobe Photoshop CS4 > Plug-ins and move the Kubota Plug-In to your Desktop or some other temporary location. Then open Photoshop and examine your actions for symbols or characters such as trademark symbols or copyright symbols.

If you have found nothing then please go to:
Hard Drive > Users > your user (the little home) > Library > Preferences and rename "Adobe Photoshop (your version) Settings" folder to "Adobe Photoshop (your version) Settings.back."

The files that you renamed with "back" will store all of your old content in Photoshop (meaning all your old actions, brushes and settings information). The next time you open Photoshop, all of these folders and files will be recreated with new preferences, which should help to clear out any bugs you may have. You many need to move content from the renamed folder to the new one Photoshop has created in order to restore old preferences, but this should put you on the right track to getting the DASHBOARD to play nice. :)

Why does my DASHBOARD have red X’s and asking me to go online?

Ensure you have Internet access and click 'Update' on your DASHBOARD to call home for products updates. If you would like this to happen less frequently, you can go to your Settings menu at the bottom of your DASHBOARD and select 'About.' Click 'Auto Updates...' at the bottom of the About screen and switch the option to monthly.

Why does my DASHBOARD says I have the wrong date or time and will not let me update?

Please check your system date and time. If you have happened to make a change to this, you will have to set it back and close and reopen Photoshop to reset.

When I am on the DASHBOARD in Photoshop CS3 or CS4, why does my cursor disappear at times?

If you cursor seems to be missing on the DASHBOARD, you are experiencing a bug in Adobe Photoshop. We will be developing a workaround to address this bug soon. You can avoid this issue by removing the DASHBOARD from the image workspace. If you keep your DASHBOARD on a second screen or on the other Photoshop Palettes, you should not have an issue with the cursor.

I have run the DASHBOARD installer, but where is the DASHBOARD?

There are a couple of things you can check if your DASHBOARD is missing after install. Please be sure that you are in a version of Photoshop CS3 or higher. Also check if you are an administrator on the computer you are installing on.

What do I do if I get the error "Command "invert" at step _ is currently unavailable?

Please go to Window > Adjustments. You'll need to make sure it's in list view (see screenshot below), then click on the little button at the top right of the palette. In the menu that appears, click on 'Add Mask by Default' and make sure there is a check mark next to it. Now, try running the action again. It's a default setting that should already be turned and on may not be for some reason.

What do I do if, during installation, I get the error 'You can't open the application _______ because PowerPC applications are no longer supported'? (Mac OS X 10.7 only)

With the release of 10.7 (Lion), it no longer supports installers built for PowerPC machines. So, it sounds like you are running an installer that is just a little outdated. Please download and install the most current version.

I upgraded my Photoshop version. What do need to do to get my DASHBOARD working on the new version?

In order to get your DASHBOARD up and running on your new version of Photoshop, you will need to download, install and activate the most current DASHBOARD installer.

How do I install my DASHBOARD into Photoshop CS5.1 or CS6?

With the new release of Photoshop CS5.1 and CS6, some of our customers are experiencing some challenges installing the DASHBOARD. This is because our plug-in installer, as with most others, is not yet compatible with this new version. Don't fret though, we have a solution for you.

What we need to do is create a "fake" Photoshop folder to install the DASHBOARD into, and then take the plug-in file and transfer it over into the CS5.1 (or CS6) Plug-ins folder. Here are the steps to take:

MAC:
1. Open a Finder window. The Finder is the little Picasso looking face on your dock.
2. Go to Hard Drive > Applications folder.
3. Create a new folder (Command+Shift+n) in Applications and name it"Adobe Photoshop CS3".
4. Inside of this Adobe Photoshop CS3 folder, create another new folder and name it "Plug-ins".
5. Run the DASHBOARD installer again.
6. This time it will recognize that you have Adobe Photoshop CS3 installed on your computer and will install into there.
7. Now go into the Plug-ins folder in Adobe Photoshop CS3, you should see the 'Kubota Dashboard 3.0.plugin' file there now. Move this file to your desktop.
8. Now go to Hard Drive > Applications > Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 (or CS6) > Plug-ins and place the 'Kubota Dashboard 3.0.plugin' file into the Plug-ins folder.

PC:
1. Open an explore window and go to C:Drive > Program Files > Adobe and create a new folder named "Adobe Photoshop CS3".
4. Inside of this Adobe Photoshop CS3 folder, create another new folder and name it "Plug-ins".
5. Run the DASHBOARD installer again.
6. This time it will recognize that you have Adobe Photoshop CS3 installed on your computer and will install into there.
7. Now go to into the Plug-ins folder in Adobe Photoshop CS3, you should see the 'Kubota Action Dashboard 3.0' folder there now. Move this file to your desktop.
8. Now go to C:Drive > Program Files > Adobe > Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 (or CS6) > Plug-ins and place the ''Kubota Action Dashboard 3.0' folder into the Plug-ins folder.

Viola! Next time you open Photoshop CS5.1 (or CS6), you should now see your DASHBOARD.

UPGRADING THE DASHBOARD

Can I upgrade from DASHBOARD 1 or 2 to DASHBOARD 3 and how much would the upgrade cost?

At this time we do not have a Pro version of the Bor-Tex, however this is something on the development table.

What are the system requirements to run the DASHBOARD?

* Adobe Photoshop CS3 or higher
* Mac OS X 10.5 or higher OR PC Windows 7, Windows Vista or XP

What is the current version of Bor-Tex?

The current version is 1.0.5. To see if you are running the current version, please go to the Settings menu at the bottom of your DASHBOARD and select 'About.' In the window that appears, you will see what version you are running. If you are not running the current version you may update at any time.

How will I receive my product?

You will automatically receive an email with a download of the software. If you prefer, you can also select to add a hard copy of the product to your order for an additional $10 plus shipping. Just be sure to check the box at the bottom left of the store page before adding the product to your shopping cart.

Can I purchase a hard copy on a jump drive or CD?

This flash drive contains two different installers, one for the Action DASHBOARD and one for the Bor-Tex DASHBOARD.

How do I find additional help for working with my Bor-Tex DASHBOARD?

How do I set up a Hot Key to bring up the Bor-Tex DASHBOARD Palette?

On the Bor-Tex DASHBOARD, in the "Kubota Basic Tools" section at the top of the list that appears, select and play the ‘Create a shortcut for the Dashboard.' Playing this will give you instructions on setting up your Hot Key.

How do I set up a Hot Key for a Kubota Texture or Sloppy Border?

To set up a Hot Key, please follow the steps below.
    1. Open any image.
    2. Create a new set on your Photoshop Actions Palette and name it “My Customized Action."
    3. Create a new action in that set, name it appropriately, choose a function key and click 'Record.'
    4. Go to File > Automate > Copy Bor-Tex Actions...
    5. Click on the drop-down menu found in the new window and start typing the name of an Action.
        Once selected, click 'OK.' This should apply the Action to your image.
    6. Now, make any opacity or layer adjustments as desired while you’re still recording.
    7. When you are done playing Actions, click the Stop button found at the bottom of your Actions Palette.

How do I change the color of a Texture?

In order to change the color of a Texture that has been applied, please follow the steps below.
    1. Add the desired Texture to your image.
    2. Right-click on the Texture layer and choose ‘Convert to Smart Object.'
        This will flatten the adjustments that are part of that layer.
    3. Right-click on that same layer and choose ‘Edit Contents' and click ‘OK’ to the message that appears.
    4. Click on the ‘Fill or Adjustments Layer’ and select ‘Hue/Saturation.'
    5. In the Adjustments window, move the sliders left and right to adjust the hue and saturation of the color.
    6. Once you have the desired color, flatten the image.
    7. Go to File > Close and then click 'Save.'

You should be taken back to the original image now, with the new color on your Texture. Be patient, as this step may take a few seconds.

Can I batch or customize an Texture or Sloppy Border with Bor-Tex?

If you are trying to setup a customized action or an action to batch with, please follow the steps below.
1. If you are batching, go to the "Settings" menu bottom of the DASHBOARD and select ‘Ignore Stops.'
If you are not setting the action up for batching, please proceed to step 2.
2. Open any image.
3. Create a new set on your Photoshop Actions Palette and name it “My Customized Actions” or something similar.
4. Create a new action in the set you just created, name it appropriately, and click 'Record.'
5. Go to File > Automate > Copy Bor-Tex Actions...
6. In the new window, select an Action from the drop-down menu and click 'OK.' This should apply the Action to your image.
7. Now, make any opacity or layer adjustments as desired while you’re still recording.
If you’d like to combine this with another Action, please repeat steps 5 and 6.
8. Create a save step by going to File > Save as and save as a jpg with your desired settings.
9. When you are done playing Actions, click the Stop button found at the bottom of your Actions Palette.

PRODUCT LICENSING BOR-TEX

What is my license and where do I find it?

Your license number is the pin code located on your order receipt. All license numbers begin with KUB followed by a series of numbers and letters. This code will activate the products that you own on your Bor-Tex DASHBOARD. If you are unable to locate your license number, please contact our office with your name and email address.

How do I activate the Bor-Tex DASHBOARD?

To activate the BOR-TEX DASHBOARD please run the BOR-TEX installer. During the installation process it will ask for your BOR-TEX license number. Make sure that you are connected to the internet and activate it.

I don’t have Internet, can I still activate?

I can’t find my Bor-Tex DASHBOARD! Where did it go?

To get your DASHBOARD back up, simply go to File > Automate > select the Kubota Bor-Tex Dashboard Palette... The DASHBOARD should immediately reappear. You may want to see if you have the Auto Close feature turned on as wel by going to the Settings menu > Auto Close Dashboard.

My Bor-Tex DASHBOARD closes after I run on Texture or Border. What do I do?

What do I do if my Actions have blue question marks?

If you see blue questions marks next to some actions, this indicates that you have not purchased them yet. If you would like to purchase them, please use the 'Update' button at the bottom of the Bor-Tex DASHBOARD' to do so. If you have already purchased these Actions, please contact us so that we can merge your licenses.

What do I do if my Actions have red X’s?

I don’t see all the Kubota Actions I have purchased. Where did they go?

I lost my jump drive or downloaded installer. How can I reinstall?

I have CS2 and/or Mac OS X 10.4. Can I still use the Bor-Tex DASHBOARD?

I have run the Bor-Tex installer, but where is the DASHBOARD?

How do I edit an image that I already have in a page layout?

In order to edit only one of your images, please follow the steps below:
    1. Right-click on the image layer in the area to the right of the smart object icon.
    2. In the menu that appears, select ‘Edit Contents.'
    3. Click 'OK.'
        The message describes that you need to save your images (after changes) in the same file format.
    4. The image will open in a new window where you can make your changes.
    5. When you are done editing your image, flatten it and go to File > Save.

How do I replace an image that I already have in a layout with a different image?

In order to replace one of your images in a layout that you’ve started, please follow the steps below:
    1. Right-click on the image layer in the area to the right of the smart object icon.
    2. In the menu that appears, select ‘Replace Contents.'
    3. In the window that appears, find the image that you would like to replace the old with.
        (Please keep in mind it will need to be the same orientation.)
        Click 'OK.'

I upgraded to Photoshop CS6 and now AutoAlbum isn't working?

AutoAlbum is not compatible with CS6 at this time. Please check back shortly for an all new and improved AutoAlbum that will be compatible. Please contact us with any questions or concerns.

Some Actions in my AutoAlbum DASHBOARD are unavailable. How do I get them back?

We recommend you reset your licensing by following the steps below.
    1. Close Photoshop and remove the specified folder relative to your operating system.

        MAC:
        Finder > Hard Drive > Users > Shared > Kubota Image Tools > and remove KAA3 folder.

        VISTA / WIN 7:
        C:Drive > Program Data > Digital Elements > and remove KAA3 folder.

Tip: If you do not see the Program Data folder, please go to your Control Panel > Folder Options > and click on the View tab. Now, scroll down and turn on the ‘Show Hidden Files and Folders’ option, press APPLY and then OK. Now try browsing to the path above again.

        XP:
        C:Drive > Documents & Settings > All Users > Application Data > Digital Elements > and remove KAA3 folder.

Tip: If you do not see the Application Data folder, please go to your Control Panel > Folder Options > and click on the View tab. Now, scroll down and turn on the ‘Show Hidden Files and Folders’ option, press APPLY and then OK. Now try browsing to the path above again.

Why are my Kubota Presets not installing?

If you have already run your Presets installer and you are not seeing the Presets listed under the Presets in Lightroom Develop mode, please check to make sure that your “Store Presets with Catalog” is functioning correctly. To do so, open Lightroom Preferences and go to the Presets tab. In the Location section, see if ‘Store Presets with Catalog’ is checked. If so, uncheck it and restart Lightroom.
