UPDATE 10-16-2024

We have had some server issues over the past couple of days that is causing issues with login to the DASHBOARD accounts. This affects creating NEW accounts as well as existing accounts. We cannot even log in from our management side. I'm working with our developer to get it figured out and they are actively working on the fix. Estimated repair time is a few days to a week.

The problem is intermittent, so trying to login repeatedly could work after a few tries or a few minutes later. Some users have reported this workaround. 

I'll update you as soon as we have some answers ourselves. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

The Kubota DASHBOARD is a Photoshop extension that organizes, searches, launches, and – by golly, it just makes Photoshop faster and more fun! It works with ANY action in Photoshop and all of the famous Kubota actions, borders, and textures. It also gives your own actions super powers, like one-step undo and paintability! • Boosterizer A great everyday effect for enhancing colors and contrast without being over-done. Gives a nice little boost!
• BW Museum A great classic version of black and white.
• Color Luminizer Interactive Use when you want to select a certain color range in your image and lighten or darken it interactively. For example, you could click on the face to lighten it up then click on the sky to darken. Works more naturally than Photoshop's default Hue brightness control.
• Color Vibralizer Interactive Use to interactively enhance certain color ranges, adding a natural vibrance without looking over-saturated. For example you could make blue skies bluer.

3. Click on Start Subscription under the Subscription section.
4. Select a plan.
5. Click on the Subscribe Now button.
6. Enter credit card details.

To download the DASHBOARD 5 installer file:

1. Log into your Kubota Market account.
2. Go to the Download DASHBOARD tab.
3. Click on the DASHBOARD 5 button appropriate for your operating system.

The installer file typically downloads into the Downloads folder.

🖥️ 🍎 To install DASHBOARD 5 on a MAC: NOTE: If you are using a Mac with the M1/M2/M3 processor, follow these instructions instead.

1. Quit Photoshop.
2. Locate the Kubota Market DASHBOARD 5 installer file.
3. Right-click on the DASHBOARD installer file.
4. Select Open.
5. Select Open on the following window.
6. Enter your Kubota Market account login credentials.
7. Once installed, close installer window.
8. Open Photoshop.
9. Go to Window > Extensions > Kubota Market DASHBOARD.

🪟 To install DASHBOARD 5 in WINDOWS:

1. Quit Photoshop.
2. Double-click on the Kubota Market DASHBOARD 5 installer file.
3. Enter your Kubota Market account login credentials.
4. Once installed, close installer window.
5. Open Photoshop.
6. Go to Window > Extensions > Kubota Market DASHBOARD.

If the DASHBOARD doesn't automatically open in Photoshop, go to Window > Extensions > Kubota Market DASHBOARD.

From Photoshop v.22.3 or later, extensions are not supported for Mac computers using the M1/M2/M3 processor, and the Extensions menu is not visible by default. However, the Kubota Market DASHBOARD can be used while running Photoshop 22.3 or later in Rosetta emulation mode, which re-enables the Extensions menu. Most users will not notice any significant difference when running in Rosetta mode.

Install the DASHBOARD normally, following these steps:

1. Quit Photoshop.
2. Locate the Kubota Market DASHBOARD 5 installer file.
3. Right-click on the DASHBOARD installer file.
4. Select Open.
5. Select Open on the following window.
6. Enter your Kubota Market account login credentials.
7. Once installed, close installer window.

Set up Photoshop to "Open using Rosetta" by default.

1. Quit Photoshop.
2. Open a Finder window.
3. Navigate to your Applications folder and locate and open your Photoshop folder labeled Adobe Photoshop 2021 (or newer).
4. Select the Photoshop application file labeled Adobe Photoshop 2021.app (or newer).
5. Type Command + I on your keyboard to open the Get Info window
   
6. Check the Open using Rosetta box, then close the window.
7. Restart Photoshop and look for the Extensions menu:

You can easily switch back and forth between using Rosetta mode and Native mode by checking/unchecking that box as above. Just make sure to quit Photoshop before changing modes, then restart it.  

The DASHBOARD is loaded with our fantastic tools and effects, but you can also use the quick search, instant undo, and organization features of the DASHBOARD on any and all actions in your Photoshop action palette!

If you can't log in to your DASHBOARD within Photoshop, first make sure your account is in good standing by logging in to your online account here.

If you can't log in because your email or password no longer works, you may either have an expired account or are trying to log in with a different email or password than what you signed up with. 

1. Your account may have been closed because the subscription lapsed and after repeated notices to update it, it was not reinstated. You can start a new subscription by following these instructions.

2. If your email or password is not working, and you definitely have an active subscription, then contact us with your full name and possible email addresses and we can look you up and reset your password, if needed. 

If you are able to log in online, and your subscription status looks normal, then let's check further:

❓Is your DASHBOARD appearing in Photoshop, but the screen is blank? You may need to re-install your DASHBOARD.

❓Is your DASHBOARD NOT appearing in Photoshop at all? You may have recently updated your computer to a Mac with M1 processor and need to run Photoshop in Rosetta mode. Click here for instructions.

❓Are you getting a message when you try to log in that says, "Activations exceeded". Contact us to reset your activations.

❓If you are having a different issue, Contact us and we'll help.

Are you getting a message when you try to log in to your DASHBOARD that says, "Activations exceeded"? This happens when you install the DASHBOARD on more than 2 computers, OR if you upgrade your computer and did not deactivate the old one first.

Contact us to reset your activations.

That message appears when the link between Photoshop and Dashboard breaks due to a Photoshop or operating system update. Simply re-installing your DASHBOARD usually solves this issue. Note that you do not need to uninstall Photoshop.

To relink Photoshop and DASHBOARD:

1. Quit Photoshop
2. Double-click on the Kubota Market DASHBOARD 5 installer file. Download again, if needed.
3. Click Uninstall.
4. Click Reinstall.
5. Close the installer window
6. Open Photoshop
7. Go to Window > Extensions > Kubota Market DASHBOARD and open the DASHBOARD.

If your DASHBOARD Installer stops and you get a message that it is from an unidentified developer, preventing you from continuing, you can manually allow the installation.

1. From your APPLE 🍎 menu at the top left of your screen, select “System Settings”.

2. Find the “Privacy & Security” option, and click on that.

3. You should see a panel on the right and scroll until you see the notice about the "Kubota Market Installer” and click “Open Anyway”.

   

4. You’ll be asked for your password, and then another confirmation. Do both and the DASHBOARD installer should now open up, ready to go.

Is your Photoshop's Home Screen enabled? If so, the DASHBOARD may be hiding behind it.

To disable Photoshop's Home Screen:

1. Go to Photoshop > Preferences > General.
2. Check the Disable the Home Screen check box.
3. Click on the OK button.

Workspace changes will take effect the next time you open Photoshop.

To uninstall DASHBOARD 5:

1. Quit Photoshop.
2. Locate the Kubota Market DASHBOARD 5 installer file.
3. Double-click on the DASHBOARD installer file.
4. Click on the Uninstall button.
5. Close the installer window.

With some recent Photoshop updates, a Javascript plugin does not get properly installed for some reason and you may get an error message about Javascript when launching the DASHBOARD. Reinstalling Photoshop, or reverting to a previous version, seems to fix the missing plugin. (This is an Adobe plugin, not ours)

Using the Adobe Creative Cloud app, you can install a previous version of Photoshop while keeping your latest version also installed, if desired. This is helpful when an update doesn't work or breaks one of your plugins and you want to go back to a previously working version. 

We recommend always keeping a known, working version of Photoshop installed, as well as an automatically updated latest version. This makes it easy to just open the previous version when something doesn't work as expected with the new one. You can keep multiple versions of Photoshop installed on your computer at the same time.

1. After you log in, click on "Manage Subscription":

You can restart your subscription as long as your account is still in our system.

You can cancel your subscription by logging in to your account here. 

1. After you login, click on "Manage Subscription":

To update your email or password:

1. Log into your Kubota Market account.
2. Go to the Profile tab.
3. Click on Update next to the profile detail you wish to update.
4. Enter new details.
5. Click on the Submit button.

NOTE: RESETTING a forgotten password must be done manually by our staff if you cannot remember your password. Contact us and we'll reset it for you.

To reset your password: Contact Customer Support for assistance. It can only be reset manually by our staff. We cannot retrieve an old password as we do not have access to stored passwords. We can only reset to a new password.

To change from Essentials to Unlimited or vice versa:

1. Log into your Kubota Market account.
2. Go to the Manage Subscription tab.
3. Click on the Change Subscription link.
4. Select your new plan.
5. Click on the Subscribe Now button.

• Your monthly fee will be prorated.

To load effects after changing your subscription plan:

1. Click on the Settings icon found on the lower left side of the DASHBOARD.
2. Click on Load Purchases.

All of our effects can be purchased individually, or as themed packages, separately from our DASHBOARD. They are installed as Photoshop Actions (.atn files). These actions can be used traditionally from the Photoshop actions palette, or Supercharged with our DASHBOARD!

Can I still purchase effects if I don't have a Dashboard subscription?

Yes, you can purchase effects individually and in money-saving packages without a Dashboard subscription from the Kubota Image Tools website. Any effects you purchase can be used with, searched, and controlled via our DASHBOARD if you decide to subscribe in the future.

Lightroom has an HDR feature that creates HDR images from any photo. When you open this adjusted photo in to Photoshop - using the Edit in Adobe Photoshop menu, it is opened in Photoshop in 32-bit mode, which is incompatible with some actions and effects. You eventually need to convert images down to 8-bit anyway to be able to print or save .JPG files:

1. Share the image from Lightroom to Photoshop
2. Convert the image to 8-bits in Photoshop
3. Apply your action or effect

This video will explain how to convert the resulting 32-bit HDR image in Photoshop to 8-bits so that you can apply any of our actions and effects to it:

NOTE: Recent Photoshop updates have disabled our ability to export DASHBOARD effects to the actions palette. If you cannot export your effects as in Part 1 of these instructions, this is why. We have a workaround for some users. Contact us for more info.

Batch processing is an essential way to speed up your workflow when you want to make the same adjustments on multiple images automatically. Any Kubota actions can be used in a batch if they don’t have any steps that require you to interact with them (like adjusting the Gaussian blur or changing the size of the selection, etc.).

Converting a DASHBOARD effect for batching

DASHBOARD effects need to be converted to actions before they can be used in a batch. Here's how:

Part One: Convert the effect to an action:

1. Find and select the effect you want to batch 
2. Right-click on the effect and choose the option to EXPORT
3. The effect will now be in a folder in your Actions palette called, Kubota Batch Actions.
4. We recommend RENAMING this folder immediately to save it, as each time you do the export it will overwrite a previous one with the same name.
   

Part 2: Modify the action so it can be batch-processed efficiently:

To use an action in a batch process, and for it to run unattended, we need to add a few automation steps:

1. Add a FLATTEN IMAGE step.
2. Add a CONVERT Mode step to make sure it is in 8-bits.
3. Add a SAVE AS step to ensure it is saved as a .JPG file in the quality you want.

Part 3: Run the Batch from the menu: File > Automate > Batch...

1. Select your source folder
2. Set the options correctly
3. Set the destination folder
4. Set any renaming options you want
5. Click OK to start the batch. Note that the Batch window will remain open while your images are processing in the background and will close when the batch is complete. Don't click the OK button multiple times :-).

Install the Kubota Sloppy Borders action, scripts and templates files to successfully run and apply the borders.

4. Place both Finder or File Explorer windows side-by-side
5. Move these Kubota scripts and templates folders into their corresponding Photoshop’s folders
   • Select the
   Kubota Sloppy Scripts
   folder and move into Photoshop > Presets >
   Scripts
   folder
   • Select the
   Kubota Sloppy Borders Templates
   folder and move into Photoshop (your version)
6. The scripts and templates files are now loaded into Photoshop
7. Keep your Finder or File Explorer window open and continue to STEP 3

STEP 3 - Load the Action File into Photoshop

Follow one of the methods below.

Method 1:

1. Double-click on the action file Kubota Sloppy Borders Vol 1.atn
2. Photoshop will open
3. Go to Window > Actions to open the Actions palette
4. The action file is now loaded into Photoshop's Actions palette and can be found at the bottom of the list
5. Continue to STEP 4

Method 2:

1. Open Photoshop
2. Go to Window > Actions to open the Actions palette
3. Click on the top right menu icon
4. Select Load Actions... from the menu list
5. Navigate to and open the Kubota Sloppy Borders folder
6. Select the file Kubota Sloppy Borders Vol 1.atn
7. Click on the Open/Load button.
8. The action file is now loaded into Photoshop's Actions palette and can be found at the bottom of the list.
9. Continue to STEP 4

STEP 4 - Kubota Sloppy Border Setup

1. In Photoshop, go to Window > Actions
2. Locate the Kubota Sloppy Borders Vol 1 folder
3. Click on the triangle to the left of the folder name to expand and show its contents

Kubota Sloppy Border Single Setup

1. Select (one-click) the Sloppy Sloppy Border Single Set Up action
2. Click on the Play (triangle) icon at the bottom of the Actions palette
3. Read the information on the pop-up window, then click Continue
4. Follow the steps on the next pop-up window, then click Stop
5. Click on the Record (circle) icon at the bottom of the Actions palette
6. Go to File > Scripts > Sloppy Border Single
7. On the next window, navigate to:

2. Click on the Play (triangle) icon at the bottom of the Actions palette
3. Read the information on the pop-up window, then click Continue
4. Follow the steps on the next pop-up window, then click Stop
5. Click on the Record (circle) icon at the bottom of the Actions palette
6. Go to File > Scripts > Sloppy Batch
7. On the next window, navigate to:

1. Select (one-click) the Sloppy Batch Script setup 4x6 action
2. Click on the Play (triangle) icon at the bottom of the Actions palette
3. Read the information on the pop-up window, then click Continue
4. Follow the steps on the next pop-up window, then click Stop
5. Click on the Record (circle) icon at the bottom of the Actions palette
6. Go to File > Scripts > Sloppy Batch 4x6
7. On the next window, navigate to:

Add a Sloppy Border - Single

1. Open Photoshop
2. Open an image you wish to enhance
3. Go to Window > Actions
4. Locate the Kubota Sloppy Borders Vol 1 folder
5. Click on the triangle to the left of the folder name to expand and show its contents
6. Select the Run Sloppy Border Single action
7. Click on the Play (triangle) icon at the bottom of the Actions palette
8. Read the instructions, then click on the Continue button
9. Select a sloppy border from the list
10. Click on the Open button
11. Read instructions, then click on the Continue button

Add a Sloppy Border - Batch / Batch 4x6

1. Open Photoshop
2. Go to Window > Actions
3. Locate the Kubota Sloppy Borders Vol 1 folder
4. Click on the triangle to the left of the folder name to expand and show its contents
5. Select the Run Sloppy Batch or Run Sloppy Batch 4x6 action
6. Click on the Play (triangle) icon at the bottom of the Actions palette
7. Read the instructions, then click on the Continue button
8. Select a sloppy border from the list
9. Click on the Open button
10. Read instructions, then click on the Continue button
    The Batch window will open
11. Select your image Source folder
12. Select your image Destination folder
13. Ensure these options are "checked"
    • Suppress File Open Options Dialogs
    • Suppress Color Profile Warnings
    • Override Action "Save As" Commands
14. Click on the OK button

Your Kubota Sloppy Borders are the original, hand-crafted borders made from actual filed out negative carriers – the original and authentic way! Most digital facsimiles available on the market today do not compare. 

Our Sloppy borders are available as a stand-along Photoshop action set, OR they come included in your DASHBOARD Unlimited subscription, which includes every effect, border, and texture we make for your creative work. 

Running them is slightly different, depending on which version you have. This video shows you the basics of each, and also how to colorize the border if desired:

Profiles and Presets are slightly different in Lightroom. We offer both options with our effects.

Profiles appear in a different location than your presets. Traditional Presets make use of Lightroom’s adjustment tools to create the look. Profiles can be made using adjustment tools, but they can also take advantage of advanced color manipulation only available in separate color editing software, giving you looks that Lightroom just isn’t capable of creating on its own. Profiles are infinitely more powerful.

You can apply a Profile AND still apply a Preset, or presets, on top of it to fine-tune the look. The benefit of a Profile is that it does not mess with any of your Lightroom slider adjustments, so you are free to set those as you see fit independently from the Profile. Applying any Preset, on the other hand, could potentially change your original slider adjustments, depending on how it is designed. 

Many artists like to adjust their images first for optimum exposure, color, and tone, and then drop a beautiful Profile on top of it to make it special.

Before attempting to install your Presets or Profiles, make sure they are downloaded and un-zipped in a convenient location on your computer. 

Install the Presets or Profiles in Lightroom Classic (not the cloud version)

In Lightroom Classic, the easiest way to install Presets or Profiles is via the Import Presets option. You can install either Presets or Profiles through the same menu:

1. Switch to Develop mode.
2. Under the Presets panel, click the “+” button and select Import Presets.
3. Navigate to the folder of your presets OR your profiles. Presets have the .lrtemplate extension, Profiles have .xmp.
4. Select all the individual .xmp or .lrtemplate files in the folder.

Presets and Profiles will automatically be installed in their correct locations and grouped by their collection name.

Install the Presets in Lightroom (the cloud version, not for Classic)

In Lightroom (cloud), install Presets via the Import Presets option. 

1. Open the Presets tab.
2. Under the Presets tab, click the “...” button and select Import Presets.
3. Navigate to the folder of your presets. Presets have the .lrtemplate extension.
4. Select all the individual .lrtemplate files in the folder.

Install the Profiles in Lightroom (the cloud version, not for Classic)

In Lightroom (cloud), install Profiles via the Import Profiles option. 

1. Open the Profiles tab.
2. Under the Profiles tab, click the “...” button and select Import Profiles.
3. Navigate to the folder of your Profiles, the will have the .xmp extension.
4. Select all the individual .xmp files in the folder.

STEP 1 - Extract Files:

1. Open a Finder or File Explorer window
2. Navigate to the downloaded Kubota AutoAlbum V3.zip likely found in your Downloads folder
3. Unzip/Extract if needed
   
   Included files:
   
   • Kubota AutoAlbum V3.atn
   • Kubota AutoAlbum Set Up.atn
   • Kubota AutoAlbum V3 Installation Instructions.pdf
   • Kubota AutoAlbum Template Library.pdf
4. Keep your Finder or File Explorer window open and continue to STEP 2

STEP 2 - Load the Action Files into Photoshop

Follow one of the methods below.

Method 1:

1. Double-click on the Kubota AutoAlbum V3.atn file
2. Double-click on the Kubota AutoAlbum Set Up.atn file
3. Photoshop will launch/open
4. Go to Window > Actions to open the Actions palette
5. The action file is now loaded into Photoshop's Actions palette and can be found at the bottom of the list
6. You are done and ready to design.

Method 2:

1. Open Photoshop
2. Go to Window > Actions to open the Actions palette
3. Click on the top right menu icon
4. Select Load Actions... from the menu list
5. Navigate to and open the Kubota AutoAlbum V3 folder and select file Kubota AutoAlbum V3.atn
li>Click on the top right menu icon
6. Select Load Actions... from the menu list
7. Navigate to and open the Kubota AutoAlbum V3 folder and select file Kubota AutoAlbum Set Up.atn
8. Click on the Open/Load button.
9. The action file is now loaded into Photoshop's Actions palette and can be found at the bottom of the list
10. You are done and ready to design.
